“We are not saying that This house is 100 percent Thai, But at least it’s a try” LSR113 is situated on Bangna road, Samuthprakarn, Thailand, on the lakefront plot of private housing property known as ‘Lakeside villa’. The house is built as one-family house which provided a flexibility to be expanded into multi-family for the future.
The briefs that designer received from the client was for functional spaces like any normal house, though what they really liked were square, modern style house, but they asked that it should not be hot inside and has to suit with Thai Climate.
From the architect. The Bridged-House design links two existing houses of different ages and styles as one, spatially, aesthetically and spiritually, while keeping the identity of two houses for the two generations. One major challenge is their being segregated horizontally by the existing long swimming pool, and vertically by a 3m level-change between their living-room floors.
Hudson Parade House
The double height entry foyer extends over the outdoor deck framing the view of the landscape beyond giving it a vertical dimension rarely found in dwelling houses. This combines with large sliding glass doors to ensure the panoramic view is well and truly captured. The seamless transition from indoor to outdoors throughout the house adds to the spectacular sense of being ‘in’ the landscape. From the main entry a flight of stairs takes you up to the top level and three bedrooms and associated bathrooms. A second set of stairs takes you down to the middle level which houses the primary living areas and large open plan kitchen with attached butlers pantry. These open plan living areas open onto a large deck overlooking the water.
Asante Architecture & Design
From the architect. A small house on the coast of Norway, just next to the water, overlooking the neighboring islands and the Norwegian Sea. The house is part of the project Bygda 2.0, a rural development project on the island of Stokkøya, focusing on developing modern Norwegian houses into a dynamic village. Businesses and research activities are combined with places to live, work, enjoy and relax. Architecture, sustainability, and exceptional cuisine are in focus.

By separating the pod from the existing house the new structure is free to respond whilst respect the past.. The roof extends out around the meals to provide solar shading from the summer sun but allow low winter sunlight to enter. The higher family room roof folds down to the west to protect from the harsh western sunlight whilst still offering views to the back yard.
Triplex Apartment in Prague
The client asked us to design a refurbishment of an existing triplex with great views and his brief was to create a modern living inspired by American mid-century interiors. Our approach was to keep the interior space clean and simple in shapes and put an emphasis on the surfaces. We tried to minimize all details and hide technical fittings in order to support the natural texture or decor of the materials and their visual and haptic qualities.
The Pool House
A private swimming pool, gym, cycle workshop and greenhouse complex set in the grounds of a large detached house in Haslemere with long ranging views over the South Downs. The project seeks to create a leisure complex from a disused section of the grounds and sets up a new geometry with the existing house to create an improved approach to the house. The design is one of a wrapping stone enclosure with a delicate placed copper roof and central glazed roof light. Thin frame glazing surrounds the pool to allow views out to newly created themed gardens within the grounds.
